Healthy and happy staff

At Berenschot it is important to us that everyone enjoys their work and continues to do so in good health. As an employer this means that we need to be aware of our employees’ needs at the different stages of their lives and that we facilitate them as far as possible.

Our activities

We focus on the physical health, mental wellbeing and social welfare of our people. For example, by offering healthy food for a relatively low price in our restaurant. We also provide workshops on setting up an ergonomic workspace at home and on the importance of having a good work-life balance. And of course social activities. Every activity is organised by colleagues, for colleagues. And wherever possible we try to link these activities with what we do around inclusiveness and in the context of charitable work. For example, we have taken part in the Roparun for the last ten years. In 2019, 45 of our colleagues took part in the Challenge Almere-Amsterdam triathlon, raising around €24,000 for a new Daniël de Hoed family home in Rotterdam.

Internal survey

We ask our employees how they want to be supported. Every year a survey is carried out which looks at the health of our staff and to determine their needs. An in-house team gets to work with the results and is given the opportunity and means to organise what they think is necessary. They provide input for our organisational policy, they organise training courses and think about tailored solutions for specific groups. For example, they are currently looking at how the needs of parents with young children can be met, as well as those of colleagues who are less active physically.
