Protection of your privacy

Berenschot Groep B.V., hereafter ‘Berenschot’, takes the protection of your privacy very seriously. We therefore treat your personal data confidentially and with the utmost care. This privacy statement applies to all personal data that is collected and used by Berenschot. This concerns client data provided by you, but also information about visits to our website, newsletter sign-ups, participation in campaigns or special offers, and information used in our consultancy assignments. Berenschot only uses your data with your permission or when Berenschot needs your data to provide you with products or services or has already done so. If and when Berenschot processes your data in any other way, this requires your (explicit) consent.

Personal data that we process

Berenschot processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you have provided this data to us. This may include the following data: first name and surname, gender, date of birth, place of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number.

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

We do not collect special personal data, such as data concerning race or ethnicity, religious conviction, criminal records, physical or mental health status, or the sexual orientation of our visitors. If necessary, we will ask for your explicit consent to collect and use the data referred to.

The purpose of and grounds for processing personal data

Berenschot processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Processing your payment
  • Sending newsletters and/or mailings
  • To phone you or send you an email if this is necessary for carrying out our services
  • To inform you about changes to our services and products
  • To deliver goods and services to you

Berenschot does not make decisions based on automated processing about matters that could have (considerable) consequences for individuals. This concerns decisions that are made by computer programs or systems, without the involvement of a person (such as an employee of Berenschot).

How long do we keep personal data for?

Berenschot does not keep your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to realise the purposes for which we collect your data. We maintain the following retention terms for the following categories:

  • Event registrations: up to 12 months after the event
    • Reason: registration of the event and for sending information afterwards
  • Book orders: until 3 months after processing of the order
    • Reason: correct processing of orders and for sending information afterwards
  • Contact forms: up to 12 months after submitting the form
    • Reason: contacting because of form and for sending information afterwards
  • Application form: up to 3 months after submitting the form
    • Reason: necessary information for application procedure

Sharing personal data with third parties

Berenschot does not sell your data to third parties and only provides this data to third parties if it is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We conclude processor agreements with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Berenschot remains responsible for the processing of your data.

Protection of children’s privacy

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors under the age of 16, unless they have the consent of their parents or guardian. We cannot, however, check whether a visitor is older than 16. Therefore, we recommend that parents be involved in the online activities of their children in order to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without this consent, please contact us at fg@berenschot.nl, and we will then remove this information.

Berenschot only uses technical and functional cookies, and analytical cookies that do not invade your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit this website for the first time. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your ease of use. They ensure that the website functions properly and remember things such as your preferences. We also use them to optimise our website. You can opt out of cookies by setting your internet browser so that it no longer stores cookies. Viewing, correcting or deleting data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. This means that you can submit a request to us to transfer the personal data that we have in a computer file to you or to another organisation indicated by you. You can submit a request to view, correct, delete, have the personal data transferred or request the withdrawal of your consent to the processing of your personal data via the online form. We will reply to your request as soon as possible, but no later than four weeks.
