Berenschot colleagues take part in TriTogether to raise funds for cancer charity

Published on 14 September 2019

Forty-five Berenschot staff came together in 15 relay teams to take part in the TriTogether Middle Distance triathlon. Through their team efforts they helped to raise € 24,000 for the ‘Familiehuis Daniel den Hoed’ (Rotterdam).

To complete the TriTogether Middle Distance triathlon, participants must swim 1.9 km, cycle 92.5 km and run 21.1 km. This triathlon is part of the Challenge Almere-Amsterdam which is the oldest triathlon in Europe and the biggest event of its kind in the Netherlands.

The Berenschot team’s sporting achievement helped to raise funds to support the ‘Familiehuis Daniel den Hoed’. The family house provides family members of cancer patients with an overnight stay close to the hospital. Thanks to generous donations from several sponsors, including shirt sponsors Rosenboom, SPS and CSU, a total of € 24,000 was raised. The funds will be used to build a new and bigger family house close to the new Erasmus MC Cancer Institute.
