Hero Benelux and CB winners of HR Proffie for Personnel Policy
Hero Benelux has won the 2012 HR Proffie, the industry award for the best personnel policy in the Netherlands. The HR Proffie for Resilience went to CB (formerly Centraal Boekhuis). Both winners were announced yesterday by Berenschot, Tempo-Team, HR Strategie and NVP, the organisers of the annual HR Proffie Award.
"Hero has distinguished itself by creating an integral and fully measurable HR policy," says jury chairman Lia Belilos. "The decline in personnel turnover from 18 to 2 percent in 3 years' time is impressive. This has everything to do with the organisation's turnaround in terms of culture and leadership. All employees were involved in this process, as a result of which the traditional gap between the office and production environment was bridged. HR and the business seamlessly meld together in this respect."
CB accepted the HR Proffie for Resilience Award for the way in which the company anticipated rapidly changing market conditions. "In addition to the distribution of books, the former Centraal Boekhuis also began applying itself to healthcare and fashion. It was especially clever that this switch was initiated even before the book market began its decline," says the jury.
Textbook examples of powerful personnel policy
The other finalists were the Gelderse Vallei Hospital, KPMG Meijburg & Co, PostNL and Beter Horen. Session chair and member of Berenschot's Executive Board, Ludwig Hoeksema, emphasised the importance of the HR Proffie as an industry award during the presentation of the awards in the Railway Museum in Utrecht: "This is a cheerful day during dark economic times. The jury witnessed a great deal of quality during its visits. The finalists are textbook examples of powerful and versatile personnel policy."
In addition to the HR Proffie Cup, Hero and CB also received a dining voucher valued at € 1,000 and they are entitled to profile themselves as the winners of the 2012 HR Proffie for a period of one year.
