Berenschot Smart Industry Ambassador

With its appointment as Smart Industry Ambassador, Berenschot joins the approximately 150 companies and institutions that are currently actively contributing to the realisation of the Action Agenda Smart Industry: Dutch industry fit for the future.

“Berenschot is happy to participate in the future. We are therefore proud of our appointment as Smart Industry Ambassador,” says Senior Managing Consultant Onno Ponfoort. “Clients can use our expertise in their transformation process towards a more digitised working method and thus accelerate their digitisation.”

The aim of the Action Agenda Smart Industry: identifying opportunities for businesses with regard to new technologies, cooperation, business models, R&D, schooling and ICT preconditions. The programme Smart Industry is an initiative from 2015 of FME, TNO, the ministry of Economic Affairs, VNO-NCW, the Chamber of Commerce and trade association Nederland ICT. Partly due to the strong position of the Netherlands in design, system design and logistics, the programme provides many opportunities for the Dutch industry.

The Action Agenda has four categories that are closely linked. Businesses, knowledge institutions and the education sector are working together in field labs to realise new digital solutions. Capitalising and accelerating acquired knowledge leads to enhancement and greater competitive strength. This naturally requires employees who are prepared for these new developments. Finally, IT forms an indispensable precondition for digitisation (big data, standardisation and cyber security).
