Living wage


Since January 2012 Berenschot has been working on the topic of living wages in international supply chains. This work is commissioned by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has resulted in the report and brochures provided in the menu on the right: The living wage brochure provides a brief insight into the concept living wage. The inventory report on Living wage in international supply chains describes and analyses the issue in detail. The thematic focus of this report is on seven sectors, namely: coffee, palm oil, textile, natural stone, electronics, tea and cocoa.

Our work continued in 2013 with a round table on living rage in the ready-made garment sector in Bangladesh in May, and a detailed research on estimating a living minimum wage for this sector in September. You will find reports of both activities under ‘downloads’.

Moreover, we have organized a European Conference on Living Wages on 25-26 November 2013 in Berlin,
