Utrecht, 17 June 2010 – Barth Drenth (43) appointed to the Executive Board of the Berenschot Groep B.V. effective 1 July 2010. He will in particular assume responsibility for the Public Management operating company. Bart Drenth joined Berenschot in 1993 and since 2002 is managing director of the Consulting Group whose primary focus is on consulting in the education, social security, culture, welfare and healthcare sectors.
This book is written for students in higher education, as well as for marketers in actual practice. The addition of local case studies and examples make this book indispensible for anyone in Belgium and the Netherlands who is or would like to be involved in marketing.

UTRECHT, 16 June 2010 – Large municipalities in the Netherlands will continue to invest in city marketing during the upcoming term of council, in spite of cutbacks. They want to increase the appeal of their municipality and profile themselves better this way. This is evident from an analysis of the G30’s council agreements carried out by the Berenschot organisation consulting firm. Nevertheless, cities are still missing opportunities.
Mrs Lilian Gonçalves - Ho Kang You was appointed as a member of Berenschot’s Supervisory Board effective 6 May 2010. She succeeds Mr C. Griffioen R.A., who having reached his maximum term of office, has stepped down from his position on the Supervisory Board.
Utrecht, 20 May 2010 - Wim van Veelen will become active as a Berenschot Associate effective 1 June. Together with Berenschot’s area development process managers, he will organise partnerships in support of area and urban development and provide leadership to existing partnerships. Furthermore, as interim manager and consultant, he will contribute to the professionalisation of organisations that play a key role in area development. Wim van Veelen has been a director under the articles of association of Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Vathorst for the past 12.5 years. During that time, the Municipality of Amersfoort’s Vathorst city-district developed into a leading example of site development.
Utrecht, 4 June 2010 - The use of a charismatic champion has a positive influence on the implementation of diversity policy. This is evident from research conducted by Berenschot into the success factors and issues surrounding diversity. The findings, published in the form of a book entitled Diversiteit en verandering. De praktijkfactoren die de implementatie van diversiteitsbeleid beïnvloeden (Diversity and Change. Practical Factors that Influence the Implementation of Diversity Policy) were presented earlier this week.

Police Academy achieves best 2010 procurement team performance
The Police Academy is the winner of the 2010 Dutch Sourcing Award presented on 8 April 2010 at the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. The award is presented annually to the team that achieves the most impressive procurement performance. The initiative of the Foundation for the Forward Development of Procurement is organised in collaboration with a number of organisations, including Berenschot and Heineken. The performances of the Institute for Employee Benefit Schemes (UWV), Enexis, Alliander, Stedin/Joulz and Delta Netwerkbedrijf, and the Police Academy were awarded a prize in the Operational Excellence, Sustainability and Step Change categories respectively. In addition, the performance of the Police Academy was awarded first prize.
Utrecht, 20 April 2010 – The book Publieke werken (Public Works) was presented in Utrecht during a seminar conducted by the Berenschot organisation consulting firm on 'The Human Dimension in Organisation Change’. The book contains a description of twelve change management projects in the public sector. The parties that are given an opportunity to speak are representatives of VMBO-Select (preparatory secondary vocational education), the Province of North Holland, Cordaan, the City of The Hague, FMWEB, Orbis Medisch en Zorgconcern, the Province of Overijssel, the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Development and the Environment Inspectorate, the City of Westland, Drechtsteden Social Services, the General Intelligence and Security Service (AIVD) and the Pension and Insurance Supervisory Authority of the Netherlands.
